What is the maximum line set distance allowable with this unit? If, based on location of indoor versus outdoor unit, more than 50ft is needed, would I have to provide my own line set or are there additional options for purchase in longer lengths (obviously not pre-charged)?
The absolute maximum is 80 ft. You would need to combine two linesets together, using a flare mating union.

Happy so far but including some helpful advice
I had the the 9600 BTU unit (WS009GMFI22FLD) installed in my man cave by professionals. I definitely like his unit better than the all electric heat I was using previously. I am sure my electric bill will be much better now. Initially I had a few issues that I figured out wit the help of Tech support. Tech support is very available but I decided to give them my feedback as well after some trial and error so it should go better for the next person. So here are some things to be aware of: 1) When you first run the unit let it run for at least 40 minutes for the computer to sync up on the thermostat. 2) The internal thermostat on the head unit isn't very accurate when the head unit is mounted near a ceiling (I can't speak to how it works when mounted in a open space my unit was in a partially open and partially covered space - see attached pictures). I found the heat shut off too quick but the cool seemed to work a little better. The solution was use the follow me feature thermostat on the remote. 3) If you are using the follow me thermostat make sure the remote is in line of sight to the head unit and that you can control the thermostat on the head unit from the location you leave or mount the remote or the thermostat will switch between the internal thermostat on the head unit and the remotes thermostat when the unit is running. 4) Once I had the follow-me working I opted to schedule and control the unit from the software app on my phone instead of the remote and just use the remote as a thermostat. 5) The instructions for installing the phone app were not real clear so here are a few points of clarity. (Location of Pioneer instructions:https://www.pdhvac.com/site/downloads/TST-APWIFICWPD.pdf) A) Download the Nethome app to your phone. B) Power down the unit with the breaker. Install the USB device in the head unit in the slot provided under the lid. power up again. Power up the unit again with the breaker and the unit will enter program mode giving you 10 minutes to program the unit C) Run the NetHome app and follow the instructions to add a split type AC unit and scan the QR code on the USB drive under the head unit lid, when prompted, to finish the install. The scan may take a few tries to get a good scan but once you do a good scan the setup with the software is pretty simple. Also if you don't have a 2.4 GHZ channel on your router you will need one and make sure before you run the software if you have both a 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHZ channel and tat you are connected to the 2.4 GHZ channel or the setup will fail. If the 5 GHZ channel is the default do a forget on that channel and connect to the 2.4 GHZ channel before running the software. After learning all these things through trial and error I am quite pleased with the heating and cooling of the unit. One issue I have run into is that the heater doesn't seem to turn off while you are running it in boost mode and I have reported that to the manufacturer. That is not a big deal as long as you remember to turn the boost off before the set temperature is reached. I can live without boost mode for now so its a small issue. I have not tried the same in cooling mode to confirm the same issue there. Overall I really like this unit and the fact that I can control it remotely through my phone app. I would like to see some of the issues I have described be in a trouble shooting section of the future owners manual that Pioneer provides to make life easier for others.

Great product and easy install, should have gotten the bigger 12000 btu unit for my small garage. but all in all I'm still satisfied.

Very nice complete package. Seems well built, and comes with everything you need except the 220v power feed. I purchased a mini vacuum pump and the suction line adaptor separately to use with my standard R410 hvac gauges. Worked like a charm.
